Hi,

Just got an email with the UK offers;

http://www.beneficialcard.co.uk/hilton/

This will give you

2 HH bonus points per £ spent
3 HH bonus points per £ spent at a Hilton Hotel

5,000 bonus HH points

Free HH Silver membership for first year ( If you are gold/diamond, enter your HH number on the form and current status is maintained).

At first glance it looks useful.

Regards

Sorry - I had to laugh when i saw the this post about the new HH UK Credit Card and the poster was "The Banking Scot"!!

I will probably sign up for the card even though the benefits are are not as good as the US Citi Card-10,000 first use 2pts per $ normally and 3pts per $ at Hilton.

Cheers

Alan

Hi,

Just to add that I am not involved in any way with this scheme as the HH card is run by a completely diffrent (Beneficial Bank) bank. ( I do see the humour in it though http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif )

I'm looking at getting one of the aforementioned cards for the instant silver status.

Three questions however...
1) How long would the status last for?
2) What would happen if I stayed more than 10 nights... would I requalify for another year of Silver or would this count for nothing; and
3) What would I need to qualify for Gold/Platinum? (as I would already have a Silver)

Applied for this card and received it at the end of April, about seven weeks ago. Still no 5000 bonus points credited to my account. Have tried ringing Beneficial Bank and HHonors desk but they just keep referring me to each other. Anybody received these bonus points yet and if so, how long did it take to get them on your account.

I have had the card about the same amount of time Chris and have yet to have my points credited.

I was told by Hilton Honors in Glasgow that they are aware of the problem regarding the 5000 bonus points and that they will be posted to accounts on July 28th.

I got the '28 July' letter from Beneficial.

Guess what. It's past 5 a.m. on 29 July and the 5,000 bonus points haven't been posted.

Why do they make promises and not deliver http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif?

Not there on the 30th either. Just checked, and it's there today.

Mine have not, Roger have you used the card? I have not yet, that could be the reason!

Yes, the bonus is posted after first use - in my case a good couple of months after first use http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif.

Eventually got the 5000 bonus points on my account yesterday, 30th July, over 3 months after receiving the leter telling me that my application had been accepted and the bonus points transferred to my account. I have used the card several times over the 3 months and the actual points for my expenditure on the card have been transferred to my account no problem. However, I still find it disappointing that the UK card only gives 5000 bonus points whereas our US friends get 10000 points, enough for a free night at a Category 1 hotel, as we are reminded every time we log into the HHonors site! Nothing like rubbing it in that we're the poor relations! Even the points on our spending are less and we can't even use it on the Double HHonors Base Points Visa promotion as it's a Mastercard. I've got the feeling it may not get used very often.

I must agree on every point that you made.

PS Have you seen how the new Newcastle/Gateshead Hilton is coming along?

Hear! hear!

And you have to use it at least once every six months to keep it valid.
