LAN LANPASS - Upgrades with kms (all segments?)

A query...

If I look for a LANpass award on LAN from BOG to MAD it shows as

Economy = 120,000kms
Business = 220,000kms
Upgrade = 80,000kms

Fine but LAN doesn't fly from BOG to MAD so it would be BOG LIM MAD

Might be an obvious question, but I presume LAN know that they don't fly from BOG to MAD so if I upgraded with 80,000 kms then would that upgrade me into Premium Economy between BOG and LIM and then into Premium Business from LIM to MAD? Is that how it works?

I guess you will be upgraded to premium economy within your upgrade price. last year I flew FRA-LIM with LAN and they don't operate a direct flight, so it was FRA-MAD-LIM. we made the upgrades with upgrade vouchers and were upgraded for both segments. it was 2 vouchers per person per oneway instead of 2 vouchers for MAD-LIM and 1 voucher for FRA-MAD. so you should be fine with one upgrade instrument for the entire journey - not only the longhaul.
80.000km is a pretty good price for a round trip-confirmed upgrade.
