Hi there,

I'm planning to stay in a few budget hotels in New York and Miami. However, my arrival times are a bit out of wack, so I'm wondering whether or not budget hotels normally accommodate odd arrival times for check in?

For example, I'm arriving in Miami at about 7:30am. Would I be able to check in at that time, or at the VERY LEAST would I be able to dump my bags and come back later? Has anyone had any experience with this sort of stuff? Same with New York - My flight arrives at midnight, so I don't know what my chances are of getting into the place at that time and leaving my bags.....

Any information will be great.

Thanks

Welcome to Flyertalk

You can almost always leave your bags, I've never had a hotel deny that as a request.

As to early check in, call the hotel and ask what they have available, if they can do it, and if there will be a charge.

If I was arriving right after midnight say on a Tuesday night / Wednesday morning, i would just reserve a room for Tuesday night with late arrival and not even try for early check in.

People have different definitions of budget hotel, but will tell you that even those aren't cheap in NYC. I've found quite a few in Florida, but I've never been in high season.

Unless it's a small mom and pop hotel you can normally check in quite late. Of course if you don't mind sleeping in the airport that's different, but very few hotels will let you check in before noon. They normally let you leave your luggage.

Great! Thanks for the info! I'll confrm with the hotel prior to making the reservation.
