A hotel I have a confirmed reservation with is no longer a hilton property.

The nearest hilton property is $54 a night more.

Has anyone had any luck getting hilton to honor the same rate when this happens?

The Diamond desk basically told me "up yours".

You're lucky to find out ahead of time when you still have a choice. Had this happen in London when we arrived at a hotel booked months earlier via hilton.com. The no-longer-Hilton honored our reservation (had printed confirmation of rate) but, of course, no Diamond amenity or breakfast/etc. Contacted HH on return as we had no idea that the hotel had changed hands. No stay credit obviously; HH basically shrugged but did eventually comp points equal to the room rate.

My experience was similar to pamplemouse's. Was never notified that hotel had changed hands. Almost couldn't find the hotel because I was looking for a Hilton, and the name of the hotel had changed, so there was no Hilton sign. Was told by the new hotel that they would honor the reservation at the same rate, but no benefits or breakfast would be provided. I was staying on a breakfast rate and the new hotel said they don't have a breakfast rate. After a great deal of arguing, they agreed to provide breakfast. A call to Hilton provided little relief. I was astonished that they had not contacted me prior to arrival. The purpose of choosing that property was because it was a Hilton. It was far too late to make alternative plans because I arrived at the hotel late. They refused to give stay credit but did issue a measley amount of points as a "courtesy." All of this aggravation could have easily been avoided had they simply notified me of the change. Is that too much to sk? They know who has a reservation and they have contact info. Seems like the appropriate step to take. If they had done that, I would have given my business that night to Hilton by making arrangements ahead of time to stay at a different Hilton property. Instead, they not only lost my business, but they totally ticked me off and lost some good will.
