There seems to be some interest (among those of us with still-valid visas following The 2011 China DO (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/communitybuzz/1143709-official-fall-2011-china-do-thread.html)) for a less-formal follow-up DO in PEK. The proposed window is 3/10-3/31, probably for about 3 days.
If you're interested, please post in this thread what dates work for you and what your level of commitment is. If there's sufficient interest, we'll start on some logistical stuff (ie: picking dates). (Attendance at the 2011 DO is not required.)

Enjoyed meeting everyone last November. My preference is March 15-19 since I booked a couple months ago. Hope to have some company.

Are there any airlines in PEK that we might be able to meet with? The China Eastern sim time in PVG was a lot of fun!

How would you feel about a tour of one of the largest flight attendant schools in China? (If there is interest, I can try to set it up, though I make no promises.)

Argh, sorry about the typo. We'd need a mod to fix the typo.
There seems to sort of be interest, but there doesn't seem to be coalescence. (I'm not helping either... am trying to figure out an HKG/NRT trip in the same timeframe.)

Okay. Once you guys pin down a date, please let me know, and I will ask them if they can provide a tour (tmk, they've never done group tours before, but I'm guessing they would be accommodating; in spite of the fact that they don't completely grasp foreigners, they like aviation enthusiasts, and are proud of their school). There are a handful of interesting hot spring resorts in the area (different from Japan, not as relaxing as Japan, MUCH cheaper than Japan) that could be worthy of tacking on.

Talking to one of the OWMD attendees, and an alum :p from China DO PVG, the weekend of the 16th would work well. Perhaps we can vote on a date by the end of the week? If this is going to happen, I'd like to buy the tickets before too long :)

Well, I can't do the weekend of 3/16. I could probably do either of the dates wrxmom suggests, unless I end up in HKG 3/7 - 3/12.

Just curious, which school would that be?
You'll love visiting a flight attendant school. All the women are young and beautiful. ;) I found it interesting that they have full on makeup/appearance classes and are even required to march outside in formation. The women are great to talk to as well! The paths that some Chinese pilots and FAs go through make for amazing stories.
(Was not on an actual school-approved tour and unsure if they typically allow tours, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask!)

It appears that you already know of the school in question, but I won't post the name here until a date range has been determined and I contact the owner to request a tour.

I'd be interested even though I didn't attend the pvg do. Date range of March 16-26 would be fine with me.
