Howdy,
Just finished a stay at the Ryetown Hilton in Rye, NY.
I did not care much for the hotel overall; found it a dingy and old. Needs a major overhaul in my not so humble opionon.
Prior to check-in, I wrote the hotel and requested an upgrade if possible. They did respond to me stating that upgrades were not possible. Ok, this is cool. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose - no problem with this. In fact, kudos to the hotel for getting back to me.
When I checked in, I handed over my Diamond card along with my credit card; and requested an Hhonors/Executive Floor. I was told they have no Hhonors nor Executive floor and no lounge.
I asked about breakfast, and was told it was not complimentary (confirmed the next morning when I was charged $17.50 for a continental breakfast (cold buffet only, no idea how much the hot buffet was - didn't have it)).
I still figured a bottle of water or a piece of fruit might show up later in my room. Nope, never.
Absolutly no recognition at all, in any way; shape or form for Diamond members that I saw.
Next time I'm up there - I think I'll try the White Plains Mariott.
I request Hilton because the little perks of being a Diamond member make traveling that much more pleasant.
Just my two cents for what it's worth.
Keep the faith,
Pakse
