Aegean Airlines Miles&Bonus - Unorthodox mileage calculation by A3

Just back from a trip DUB-PHL-BOS on US.
US market this as a single flight US723 despite the fact that you change planes and have about 2hrs in PHL.

Per Great Circle a economy fare should earn 3552 (100%), however A3 calculated it as 2985, which is basically the distance for DUB-BOS direct. I will probably send in my BP's to get my missing miles but let this serve as a warning to be especially vigilent if travelling on flights where several legs have the same flight number.

What's happened is perfectly correct and perfectly normal. Other *A FFPs do this as standard.

If you've booked a 'direct' service, mileage is calculated on the start and end points, regardless of tech stops, change of equipment or anything else.

aghh.
Still, cheap lesson learned (the 500miles were prob not worth posting in BP's). Will note for future reference and make sure to take a different onwards flight.

Here's my experience with this, which may be of interest...I recently flew MEL-LAX-SJC on UA which in fact involves a stopover in SYD en route to LAX. On the way over, somehow my A3 number only registered on the MEL-SYD boarding pass and not on the rest, which I had to retro claim, and I was given mileage for MEL-SYD plus SYD-LAX-SJC. However, on the way back when everything registered from the get go, I only got SJC-LAX-MEL.
