Just made a dummy booking... looks to be ~330 RT a/i ($129/each way for 'firm' fares).

Porter Airlines will begin service to Washington Dulles International Airport beginning in April.

The regional airline, which operates out of the Toronto Island airport, said it will offer three daily round-trip flights on weekdays starting April 16. It will also have one round-trip on Saturdays and two round-trips on Sundays.

“Greater Washington is a region that our passengers have told us is their number one priority for new Porter service,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “We expect great interest for both business and leisure trips and look forward to bringing competition to the route.”

It's a shame that they can't serve DCA because YTZ lacks preclearance. It diminishes the benefit of the downtown service in Toronto to overall travel times.

There is no physical line on the ground, but there is a clear distinction. Before the AeroTrain, all of the gates were in B except for the six ground-level regional gates at the east end, which were the A-Gates. When the train opened, they split the concourse roughly down the middle, near the passenger walkway to the main terminal. They also renumbered the gates, so that passengers would know which station, A or B, was closer to their gate.

It is true about pre-clearance. Hopefully with enough US flights, they can persuade authorities to set this up at YTZ.

IAD is nearly 30 miles or so from downtown. There is a city MetroBus, the 5A (http://www.wmata.com/bus/timetables/dc/05a.pdf?n), that is quick and relatively cheap and will take you into the city. There is also the Washington Flyer (http://www.washfly.com/coach.html) bus that will take you to the West Falls Church metro station where you can catch the metro into the city. The metrobus is $6 one-way, while the Flyer is I think $10 one-way ($18 round-trip), plus metro fare. Both will take probably about an hour. They are pretty easy and not all that expensive, just a little time-consuming.
