This promo was mentioned in the Promotions thread by geeprice but I think it deserves it's own thread because it really is another great promo from Carlson for the first couple of months of 2012. Again....credit on finding this goes to geeprice and here is his/her original post in the Promotions thread:

Looks like there is a new Club Carlson promotion starting as of tomorrow, just got a sticker for it checking in this afternoon:

Triple Points.
Faster Nights.

Thanks, already signed up. ^

Are there any other current promotions I should know about? In the next months, it looks like I will be staying at Radisson Blu properties at least three nights per week and I am relatively new to the Carlson Club / Radisson. (I already did the XING silver promo)

70 points per dollar (for a Gold member) plus the 2K online booking bonus can really add up. Too bad I just had a stay this past weekend. I hope this will work on Cash&Points stays as well. On a 1-night, 5K+cash rate you can basically get those 5K points back (with the online booking bonus), and would just be paying a reduced rate for your stay. LOVE IT!!!

Thanks for this. As a newbie here, do Carlson normally run quarterly promo's in the same way HH/PC do?

Lately Carlson has been having two promos running at the same time. And their promos have been more often than quarterly. Just scroll back thru this forum and you will see.
For example the 9000 point promo is still going even as this promo is announced:

Actually, the only promos that PC runs quarterly are the "lightly targeted" Stay X, Get Y kinds of promos.

The "public" promos at PC (like the Double Points or Double Miles starting up soon) tend to be only three a year, not four a year, and thus not really "quarterly".

Hilton is the only hotel program that runs (and aligns) its "public" promos on a calendar quarter basis.

Unless I'm missing it, I don't see a list of non-participating hotels anywhere. Does anyone know where I can see said list? Thanks.

Though the page says something about staying at particiapting hotels, I haven't seen a list.

I like triple points! ^

Guys, I have a Q regarding a reservation I'm making at Country Inn & Suites on 1/17

I signed up for the triple points offer and I'm booking a room under the "double gold points package" rate. So, will I get triple points on the "double gold points package" or will they merely add double points after they credit me triple points on the regular one-night rate.

Fwiw, I'm a Gold Elite and the room is $90/night (dbl points package), $83 (regular rate) Do you know how many points I'll get after for a one-night stay? TIA

The triple points offer terms and conditions says the offer is really a bonus 40 gold points per $ eligible to earn gold points. So as a Gold you would get 90 points per $ for your stay plus the 2,000 point booking bonus.

Hi

As a "newbie" to Club Carlson...

Can I earn the triple points for a 1 night stay for 6 rooms that I'm booking (and paying)?
Can I earn those points if I'm booking through Expedia?

Many thanks

Yes you get all the points and as an advice it is better to transfer all others room charges to your room number and ask for just 1 Total bill.
If you book expedia usually you dont get points but some times if you are lucky you do.

Really? There is no limit to the number of rooms a Club Carlson member can earn at the same hotel in one night? I would expect 3 or 5 max.

There is a limit of 3 rooms to get points for. Also the case for triple points

My normal points for my stay Jan 10-11 posted, but not the triple points even if I had registered for the campaign.

I'm not surprised, Club Carlson does nothing but disappoints constantly.

Hey everyone...first time post here.

Like niksal, my triple points did not post.

I am 100% sure I registered per the email I received and I had three stays over this past weekend (Jan 13,14,15). The points for my stay on the 13th posted, but without the bonus. I called and asked about it and they said it was because I did not register. I explained that I had in fact registered(walked them through the process of getting the email, clicking on the link, filling out info...) and they said that I must have not done it correctly. They said there is no way I'd be able to get the bonus points for those stays.

Anyone have any advice about what I could do at this point?

I wonder if you try to register again, if it says you are already registered, then you may have more amo on your side if you go back to talk to them again.

Good luck

Access your profile online at the CC website. Click on

'My Statement'
then click
'Missing a transaction for a recent stay?* '

Enter the details and your problem, they normally respond with an email within a few days.

Cheers

I have the same problem - did 2 stay Mon, Tue in 2 RadissonBlu and no point shows, and I tried to register again and I did a screen dump that I have already registered. ^

Now I'll wait a week to see if my stays post.

Thanks.

Hotel Room Spend US$ 581
Gold Points earnt per $ spent 20
Silver Status Bonus 25% 25
Triple Bonus GP per $ spent 40
Total GP per $ spent 65

Total GP for room booking 37765
Online booking bonus 2000

39765

Is this calculation correct? The total cost of my 3 nights is actually coming to USD765 however 184$ is showing up as tax - am I right in thinking I don't get miles for that element? Obviously if I spend 100$ on food and drink and charge to my room then the 581 will rise to 681 etc etc.

Seems a very good deal???

I have learned from CC agent that Taxes are not included in the points calculation (nor is parking). Food and Bev is definitely included as you have stated.

I like this promo, one night 103eur rate attracts 13K points.

can this be combined with double points rates? and how would it calculate out on say a $75 per night stay?

Yes you do. I spent 15k points for a cash + points room in the Oslo Plaza and revieved the following points

Room 3,393
Food & beverage 75% bouns 233
Concierge 75% bonus 2,545
Triple points 7,406
Online booking 3,000
Food & beverage 311

Total 16,888

I love triple points, I have three more nights in Russia this week, I should get close to 80,000 points for the three nights.

I'm wondering the same. Looking at a stay in Springfield, MA and AAA rate is $90 and Double Points rate is $109. If they did stack, it would be 3,465 more points for the higher rate with the silver bonus which works out to around $0.0055 per point. It's a work trip and I've got flexibility to book either rate at no expense to myself.

Well, book the dbl points rate then and let us all know if it can be combined. :D

I'm going to call them in the morning and see if they can tell me. But I did just go ahead and book the double point rate. I was going to book a Hilton Garden Inn, but this promo (and them matching me to silver status) has me going for Club Carlson. Even with the more expensive rate, I'm saving $60.

I'll let you know.

Feb 12, 2012 Earn Points|Room Earning 20 Points per USD 2,178
Feb 12, 2012 Earn Points|Online Booking Silver Member Bonus Points 2,000
Feb 12, 2012 Earn Business Rate Double Points Bonus 2,178
Feb 12, 2012 Earn Points|Triple Points Faster Nights Bonus 4,356
Feb 12, 2012 Earn Points|Silver 25% Room Points Bonus 545
Total = 11,257

The double points rate stacked with the 3x points promo, and overall for a one night stay I ended up with 104 points per $! Downside is that I had to drive an extra 20 minutes after 9 hours of flying/layovers compared to staying at another hotel (probably the Sheraton). Also added that extra 20 minutes on my drive in the morning heading to the client site.

Wow, nice! Thanks. You got a one night free stay (at their 9000 redemption hotels) off this stay-not bad!
