Hi there,
I just got my status match to Emerald Executive.
I have rented a mid-size SUV from National, though through a third party website. Will I still get all the benefits of my new status (especially the upgrade to a higher class)? In this case, will I get a full-size SUV?
Thanks fot your answers!

Probably not. The upgrades don't work that way with National, in that you won't be getting bumped up a class. You can always try asking though!

With the program, you pay one class less than what you rent...so, if you want a full-size SUV, rent it and you will be charged a mid-size SUV rate.
Regarding going through 3rd-parties...I don't believe you get any benefit for it, but I could be wrong. I want to even say you don't get a rental credit, but again, I could be wrong.

I somehow got a rental credit for a priceline rental with National I had over the summer, but I think that's a major YMMV. Unfortunately if OP booked using hotwire or priceline, that's already paid for and even if he/she could use the coupon codes to get a better deal off National's website those priceline rentals are non-refundable.
