Etihad Airways Etihad Guest - Seat Selection on EY from AA miles

I have booked 2 tickets on EY using my AA miles from AUH-JFK

Does anybody knows how I can do seat selection on EY site with AA reservation

Call AA and get your EY record locator, you can then use that to call EY to select a seat. You can also use that locator to confirm the seat selection on the website.

No way, that I can tell, to do it on-line. You need to call, once you get the EY PNR from AA.

Rec'd EY PNR from AAngle and called EY helpdesk and able to selected 2 seats in Y

Related question. I want to use AA miles for business class on EY, but I signed up for Etihad's FF program to get a sense of things. Availability was no problem for my dates (Dec 2012), but when I attempted to select seats for my dummy booking, it showed only 3 seats open on the 777 (identical availability on every date viewed and on outbound/return). The available seats were one each of the paired seats in the center section, except for the first such row.

Does this mean award tickets can only get "bad" seats?

I just did the booking with EY Business using AA Award. Start by searching for award seats using EY goes program (create an account). As long as you have lowest EY award showing as available, you can book using AA.
Seat selection is simple.. gotta call the EY call center. They had multiple seats available and I got my first selection on all routes.
