As an appendix to this main thread - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/new-york-city/895194-holiday-tipping-ny-residents.html - I thought we might assemble some data on how much NYC Forum participants gave their building employees in holiday tips for 2011.
• Please report ONLY tips given to building employees (superintendant, doormen, porters, handymen, concierges, etc., often listed in a memo from the management company), and not tips to other service providers, such as mail carriers, newspaper carriers, delivery people, etc.
• Please report TOTAL amounts given in tips to normalize for buildings with larger/smaller staffs.
Please do not post to this thread. Rather, continue discussion in the main thread linked above. Thanks!
