I would like to comment on my experience flying DL, AZ and AF on long haul (DL = TATL, 767 with older seats; AZ = TATL, A330 with new seats; AF = CDG-JNB, A380)

- Ground service/lounges: AF wins, even if we know that lounges are interchangeable for Skyteam. I generally find DL ground staff to be more helpful, though.

- Boarding experience: DL wins, AF second, AZ varies too much

- On board service: I would rank them to be similar, maybe AZ and AF slightly better, but similar

- Meals: AZ wins hands down, completely different level. AF ranks second. DL really cannot compare even if not bad. Wines slightly better on AF though, and I liked their ice cream.

- Seat: AZ flat bed wins hands down, but people who tried the new DL flat bed say comparable things of it. AF's choice of having a flat bed with some inclination just doesn't do it for me, it's inferior.

- On board kit: AZ wins hands down. DL and AF comparable.

I agree that AZ does a very nice job with food - fresher ingredients with nice simple preparations. But long term reliability issues make it a distant third choice for me.

What do you mean by "long term reliability"?
