In this weeks De Pers (Wednesday 4 January 2012, page 6 also available on-line (http://www.depers.nl/economie/621121/Lijden-in-de-kuddeklasse.html)) there is an article about the race to the bottom of certain airlines.

Nothing new in the article but may be worth reading.

EDIT:

I like how that in the paper version it states:
Enkele maatschappijen proberen de verhoudingen enigszins aan te passen. Onder andere Air France en British Airways hebben recentelijk "tussenklassen" geintroduceerd met ruim 96.5 cm beenruimte. Ook Cathay en KLM gaan zo'n tussenklasse introduceren.

The on-line version states:
Enkele maatschappijen proberen de verhoudingen enigszins aan te passen. Onder andere Air France, KLM en British Airways hebben recentelijk ‘tussenklassen’ geïntroduceerd met ruim 96,5 cm beenruimte.

Small mistake I would say ;-)

Even more mistakes in the online version of the article... I think the infographic about the business classes of various airlines has BA's Club Class and Premium Econmy mixed up..

There is just so much wrong with this article, but apparently this is common when papers write about the airline industry. The Daily Mail (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/1297560-ot-daily-mail-claims-qf-f-like-starship-enterprise.html) for instance also shows bad journalism.

Comparing Ryanair with Cathay First is also stupid. The infographics are sometimes wrong from what I see. No way KLM has more legroom than SQ/GA and this is self experience. And I didn't know KLM's economy seats have no recline?

I don't hope kuddeklasse will become a common appelation here in NL. What's next? Gate luizen? :D

P.S. Do the WBC seats really have a recline of 178*? That seems awfully close to full flat?

And don't you mean race or do I get I wrong?

De Pers obviously also hasn't understood what F was like 30+ years ago.

The Daily Mail? Well, what do you expect....???Indeed. It is not just about the airline industry as far as the DM is concerned. This is just an all-round bad paper full stop.
