SAS EuroBonus - CPH-HKG with highest EB earning in Business?
Happy New Year to all!
I'll be flying CPH-HKG in Business Class in February (Dep CPH 23, return HKG 28/29) and am looking for the most cost-effective way to earn the highest ammount of EB points flying *A.
Travel time & number of stops is not important. What matters is the price (low as possible) and EB points earning (high as possible).
Any pointers greatly appreciated :-)

Surely SAS long-haul with EBG bonus must be the way to maximize your EB earning?

Perhaps you could add an extra intra euro leg? Like CGD-CPH-BKK-HKG, that would give you 37.400 EB points in Z costing ca. 23.000 and then adding a CPH-CDG-CPH roundtrip on top in economy adding 700 EB and costing ca. 1000 kr.
Total:
38.100 EB points costing 24.000 = 1,5 EBp/Kr. - not to bad...
I havn´t got the time to check on fares at the moment, but previously it was cheaper to start in MMX compared to CPH and travel:
MMX-(SK)-ARN-(SK)-CPH-(SK)-BKK-(TG)-HKG.
Alternative routing would be via BJS but that will be a few points less to your account. However, if you prefer day-flights BJS is good.

But is SAS the most cost effective way to earn EB points?

SAS business-fares to BKK from Sweden are very copmpetitive via CPH and you get the EBG-bonus.

But is SAS the most cost effective way to earn EB points?
Yes, as you get 25% more points flying SAS as EBG than on any other STAR carrier...
I've seen a price with Turkish Airlines of around DKK 15.000 return, Business Restricted. I've not been able to find out which booking class this is in.
Any experiences with Turkish & EB earning on restricted Business tickets?
Only the most expensive Business Class tickets earn 200% with EuroBonus, so I believe you'll earn actual miles flown with no extra bonus.
@ILS2>> You think I could get this confirmed by SAS EB member service via phone?

They will have no idea what kind of booking class you're offered by Turkish, but I can say with absolute certainty that you won't make more than 100% miles (actual miles flown).
Turkish earnings chart for EuroBonus: http://www.flysas.com/shared/EuroBonus/Earn-points/airlines/Turkish-Airlines/#
These are the Business Class-fares offered by Turkish ex. CPH for your dates:
JN1BX TK J Round-Trip 12540(DKK) B
JN1BX TK J Round-Trip 15260(DKK) B
DNRT TK D Round-Trip 18240(DKK) B
CNRT TK C Round-Trip 24190(DKK) B
As you can see, you need to pay 24190 DKK (+ taxes) for full earnings.

A quick check on SAS and Thai gives the following:
Booking Class : Z
Route: MMX-ARN-CPH-BKK-HKG-BKK-CPH-ARN-MMX
Price: DKK: 23118,-
EB Points: 37400 (Based on EBG)
DKK/Point: 0,62 kr
Not too bad:)
Hove a good trip
If looking for Euro Bonus points primarily, the MMX routing is the way to go (I would do it)!
For a more relaxed journey probably the likes of LX or SQ is better...
