It's not exactly a "Do", but I thought that should any of you be in the area, you might find the LAX Airline Memorabilia Show (http://www.jetpsa.com/LAX/index.html) interesting. It is being held at the Embassy Suites LAX South from 9am - 3pm. Admission is $5.00 and once inside you will find all manner of airline memorabilia from timetables to menus to models to books. The hotel provides free shuttle service to and from LAX.

Have been there in 2007, when I was still actively shooting airplanes on K25 & K64, it's a nice show, but also take a look at this one also.

Miami Slide Fest and Photographers Convention 2012 will be held January 11-14, 2012

Please bring your spare commercial and military slides and help support the continuation of the best show this side of the Atlantic. Last show was basically a social event but many with spare slides did not bring them. Please support us. The slide hobby is still alive and well but it is your support of bringing slides that will keep this show alive. It takes hard work on the part of Eddy Gual and myself to bring this to you all. Bus tours are scheduled for participants, especially for those who bring slides to trade and sell.

1-11 - Evening trading at Comfort Inn and Suites
1-12 - FLL bus tour* and evening trading at Comfort Inn and Suites
1-13 - MIA bus tour* and evening trading at Comfort Inn and Suites
1-14 - Last minute trading / digital show** / slide auction at Comfort Inn and Suites

*Tours are filling up fast. FLL is now on stand by. For MIA, you must contact Don Boyd at: miaairfieldtour@gmail.com

ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE REGISTERED AND GIVEN CONFIRMATION EMAILS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BOARD.

(Please limit to photographer only - no additional family members or children. The seats are limited).

**If you want to show digital photos for the digital show, we will dedicate 1 hour maximum for this right before the slide auction. Please bring a CD with maximum of 50 photos per person.

**** Special Flight of the Eastern DC-7 if available - Saturday January 14 at 8 AM from Opa Locka. $250 per person for the 45 minute flight over Florida coastline. Please contact Roger Jarman at www.atlantic-models.com

**** Saturday nights special presentation about the last 10 years of the Space Shuttle program with narration and photography by Suresh Atapattu at 8 PM

Please follow us here on Airlinehobby.com or Facebook.com Announcements will be made in these sites only.

More information and tour instructions/reservations will follow later this year.

I'll just miss as I fly out of LA on the 20th. Across the street from the Embassy Suites LAX South is the "Flight Path" Museum. I'd recommend visiting that as well. Have been there many a time w/ FTers.

Cheers.
