I'm trying to decide between NH and AC for a multi-stop partner award based on a fat sum of MR points I can transfer in. Most likely booking LAX-RAR-AKL/AKL-LAX J (if possible I'd begin and end from MSP) AC is pricing between 135K-185K. If I look at the NH chart their redemption is quite a bit cheaper miles wise. But the system locks you out of the search.

The Partner Flight Award search function is only available for passengers who have a certain level of mileage.

There are many threads and posts talking about the ANA tool workaround. But to save you from having to search, you just need to do an ANA flight search for a route with ANA flights such as NRT-JFK, then on the availability screen, there will be a menu for partner airline search where you can enter completely new flight details for anywhere else you want.

Otherwise, any mileage balance at all (even 100) is enough to open up the front entrance for the partner search.
