I am planning a 5-7 night trip to Fiji with the family - 2 adults and 3 kids - 7, 4, 4.

I am looking for accommodation for us all, preferably a resort with a kids club where they can be occupied at least some of the time.

I started looking at the Hilton resort to use HH points, but the only room which can accommodate us all is a 2 bedroom suite and the points cost is 190,000 per night - excessive to say the least. The paid rate is probably beyond our budget.

I looked at some packages - a lot of resorts don't seem to be able to accommodate 5 people in one room nor do they have adjoining rooms.

Any suggestions for resorts or other accommodation that would suit us and won't break the bank?

Have a look at Plantation Island Resort, its on a small Island called Malolo Lai Lai. Its around a 45minute ferry ride from the main land or 10minute flight.

They have kids stay free for U16.

Quote a few resorts in Fiji have offers where the kids eat and stay free. i wouldn't bother wasting your points when you get a great deal.

Here's a link i hope you find useful

The Sheraton Villas Denerau all have kitchens and there are 2 BR units at a reasonable cost; don't confuse it with the Sheraton next door, which is regular hotel rooms (also cheaper). Everywhere in Fiji is extremely kid friendly, so great choice.

Are you after a family beach holiday? if so I wouldn't recommend any hotel/resort in Denerau. The beach is a man made, not the nicest water either.

Of course Denerau isn't the real Fiji and the resorts make no secret out of the lack of beach. But there is a better beach on a deserted island across the channel (10 min by free boat, at least from the Westin where I stayed). But a high-density artificial resort environment has some advantages, for example Flying Fish restaurant is at the Sheraton and the Westin has one of the best Japanese restaurants in the world on the golf course (quite incredibly -- in the Nobu class but with much lower prices). So if not looking for isolation or the real Fiji, then Denerau can make a good vacation (and it is pristine compared to the Gold Coast or Honolulu, etc.).

God, please, please, please stay away from Denarau. It's simply an awful place.

My suggestion would be Castaway Island. About 2 hours on a ferry from the mainland, child friendly and simply spectacular. There's plenty of other Island reports around as well that cover all budgets.

Fiji is a great choice with kids. The Fijians are very family orientated. The kids clubs are excellent.
