An observation of these boards has my perverse mind thinking that the increase in points for the hotel awards in particular the GLON/ALON/TEEN may turn out to be a more astute marketing ploy than it appeared at first..
A) Seeing the amount of awards being redeemed if the listing on another thread is any sort of sample Hilton is getting a lot of points off the books to be used as awards in a period where hotel occupancy is down with no real upturn in sight. I expect most of these will used in Europe or Hawaii were business is reported to be down some 30%
B) I anticipate some members being forced to stay at properties which were not their first choices but having to do so before their awards expire in June 2004. I predict come next May there will posters on these boards seeking advice as to where they can utilize a soon to expire award because there is no inventory at the HWV or HHV
One final thought and this again is only my personal opinion but that some Ftalkers seem to have a lot of spare time: 4 ALONs = 24 days in (any one or two) hotels in Hawaii is a bit much.
