I had a call last night from GF CS. "Dr Walker, I note you are traveling tomorrow, I wanted to confirm you are going to LHE (Lahore) and NOT London (LHR) as usual. We wanted to ensure you had not made a mistake when you did the on-line booking.

I am indeed going to Lahore, but how many airlines would do that??

Yes if it was indeed a mistake, they would have made double profit, selling you a ticket for LHR, and releasing that LHE seat to someone else.

Good job. I guess "as usual" was the keyword. Not many globetrotters would travel to AfPak region on business, and who knows they may be keeping a close eye on guest list for few destinations at the behest of "you-know-who".

Just back from a few days in Lahore (attended a friends wedding) the best experience i have ever had! I loved Pakistan! :)

My first time there, simply amazing! It is incredible how the press flag it in comparison to how it really is, i have never met such friendly people, i am talking in the streets, not just at the wedding, the Lahore Fort is breathtaking!

BTW, Does anyone know if GF offer cheap upgrade offers from Y to C when doing OLCI ? If yes any idea how much for intra GCC flights ?

actually when you checking-in online, Gulf Air (unlike United) doesn't offer such service. It can only be done at the sales counter in BAH or at Golf Air lounge using miles.
