I will be in Munich from January 11th to January 17th. The American football NFL Patriots play a playoff game at 02:00 on January 15th (8pm EST in the US).
Does anybody have any suggestions of how I can watch this game? I will be staying with my girlfriend's family. If there was a certain channel that we could order for the day that would be an option. I am not sure if any sports bars would be open at that hour. I don't know much about TV over the internet, but maybe that is a possibility.
Thank you for your insights. Go Patriots!

I have found bars in London when stuck in the same situation over the last few years. I found my options in both flyertalk and google. The UK has cable channels that carry the NFL (I want to say Sky 2 but am not sure). I assume Munich has enough Americans that it would be covered somewhere in the city. Look for Irish bars too- they tend to cover the NFL when their football isn't on.
Another option I use is a Slingbox but it is a couple of hundred bucks and not really worth it if for just this one use.

See my post#6 in this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/germany/1297093-25-hours-munich-what-do-you-recommend.html
ESPN America is available via Sky in Munich and carries all the NFL playoff games.

I'm also a huge Patriots fan and in Munich this weekend. I've been searching for a while for a place to watch with little luck. According to the ESPN America TV listings, they will by showing the game live at 2:00am, as well as a replay at 11:00am Sunday morning. I called Champions and they told me they close at 1:00am Saturday night so we're out of luck there. Right now it looks like our best bet is waiting until Sunday at 11 which I'd really rather not do since Sundays are my only day off so I'd rather do a little sight seeing. Anyway, let me know if you find any options for watching it live.

Let me check with some americans I know what they are up to that night... one guy I know has ESPN America at home, but I doubt I can send some strangers to his place :)
Many hotels that cater to the american tourists do have ESPN america on their TVs... I recall the FRA Sheraton has ESPN america running. Maybe calling the Marriott/Sheraton etc would be worth an effort?
BTW, if you are watching NFL Playoffs at 2-x am in the morning I doubt you can do any sightseeing during the day...:)

The first feedback from longtime residents is that they always meet at the Marriott Champions bar (since years) to watch the NFL playoffs. They found it strange that they are not open late this year.
