I am planning a flight from PHX to AVL and according to CO, the connection time is 48 minutes. Does anyone know if the is doable for without missing the next flight? Might be a silly question, but I have never been to IAH.

This would be best posted in the UA/CO forum, but as the veteran of several hundred IAH connections, I think it's doable, assuming your inbound is on time. You'll likely have a 738 or 739 coming in from PHX and an E145 departing for AVL, thus you'll be coming into C or E, and likely departing from the bowels of hell, err, B. Hustle off your inbound and make a beeline for the airtrain and you should be fine. PowellM Jan 2, 12, 3:18 pm I'm sorry, I a new to these board. I will look at getting a layover for about 2.5 hours instead. I hate to rush. China Clipper Jan 2, 12, 3:31 pm Good idea imho. I absolutely hate super-short connections because I'm always stressed ahead of time, given how often flights can be late. It's just not worth the hassle factor to me. So look at it this way: you'll have a little time to stretch out, relax, and possibly get to know a new major airport. So next time you're passing through IAH you'll be a seasoned traveller there http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i251/benzomatic/Emoticons/icon_smile_tongue.gif obscure2k Jan 2, 12, 4:18 pm Please continue to follow this thread in the Flyertalk Texas Forum. They are numerous and fast moving. Sounds right. I will look at getting a layover for about 2.5 hours instead. I hate to rush. If you hate to rush, then the longer layover is best. I've made these connections before, but even as veteran road warrior stress when they take their sweet time in leting people off the plane giving me twenty minutes to go from gate to gate. Doable but potentialy stressful  EmailKid TMOliver Jan 4, 12, 9:21 am In and out of IAH frequently (even to/from the bowels of B), I'd be comfortable with a 48 minute connection, even for most departing international flights. For a "first timer", however, IAH's layout and movement through/between terminals can be confusing, so for your first go-round, the longer connection time may be a good choice. |
