Hoping for some information regarding AirTran upgrade policy from the experts.

1-Is a deeply discounted fare eligible for upgrade once OLCI opens and/or at airport, and if so,
2-Does anyone know whether TPA-SJU is considered medium haul, or long haul by AirTran for the purposes of upgrade add/collect/co-pay ?

The place on the website I was looking did not seem clear, particularly on the second point, but I may have missed something.

All fare classes work the same way for upgrades (even award fares). That's what made AirTran's BC so flexible compared to the legacies.

AirTran no longer publishes a list of upgrade fees for various routes. My best guess would be long haul for TPA-SJU.

Thank you for assist with the info..notion of the upgrade on mileage award quite generous...shame to see it will go with SWA.
