Le Club Accorhotels - Noobie Question: A Club Platinum membership kit?

I recently obtained A|Club Platinum Status through a Promotion with HSBC. I understand that the program will be rebranded and possibly changed in 2012 but I was wondering what goodies (if any) I can expect in my Platinum membership kit. Luggage tags or anything like that? Bonus points if anyone has any pictures!
(Note: I'm a total rookie on FT. I did try searching the A|Club forum to see if I could find anything was wasn't able to. Sorry if this has already been posted.)
Thanks for your help!

Consider A|Club a *points* program and not a *privilege* program and you'll understand it more.

In short, expecting *nothing* because they won't give you anything unless they absolutely have to. Scroll through the forum for further evidence.

Welcome to FT and the Accor A-Club forum zzll :)

The membership "pack" contains only the card.

I recently obtained A|Club Platinum Status through a Promotion with HSBC.

As did 1'000'000 others through the readily available promotion codes flooding the internet (on FT and other sites as well) so the tiers are rather vague as any one can jump directly from nothing to Platinum  This leads me to believe that the hotels don't care very much about the different status' as there probably are more status "invites" than actual earned plats.

When something is very easy to get hold off without one having to make an effort it doesn't have the desired effect and nothing is given in return, which I guess is fair enough to a certain extent. In fact there should be two kind of parallel status' - One for earned and one for the 90% others!

This said, I have in the past benefited from being Plat in the Far East but after I was degraded to Silver I choose to no longer to take part of the program (kind off) :(

Well when you have a program that has literally no privileges and a terrible earn rate, it's pointless to start with. A|Club is viewed as a joke by the public and other loyalty programs alike.

I wouldn't directly classify it as a joke tbh, (and who exactly is the public?) as I have gotten a quite good few upgrades during my Plat career.

Also, being able to collect points/nights at dead cheap hotels (Ibis upwards) to then use vouchers at luxury top notch hotels is not half bad. I just got p'd off that I went directly from Plat to Silver and still I only need a few hundred points to reach Gold

Anyway, if nothing else then the A-Club forum in here is worth sticking to the program tbh ^

The public is you, me, and everyone else. ;)

Upgrades and other privileges only apply to their highly priced, top-level hotels. Anything lower than that and you get absolutely zero. No free wifi. No bottle of water. Zero.

You have to spend EUR2000 at Ibis to get a voucher worth EUR40. That's a lot of stays and usually won't cover the price of a hotel so you need another EUR2000 to get the next EUR40 voucher. Get Platinum and that becomes EUR1000.

Still sound appealing?

Was not easy for me to get in to Gold!
around 20 emails, 10 calls & 2 months exchanged to claim the 30th night/year required to reach Gold status
later they gave me the Gold status on gesture basis
I was impressed until found on this forum that they give even Platinum status for free:D
