Asiana Club - Connecting to Delta or AA in JFK from Asiana PNH

Hi. Hoping someone can tell me if I will be able to check my bags through in Phnom Penh and not have to pay excess bag fees (I am a *A gold so have extra bag allowance PNH-JFK) for a JFK-MIA or FLL connection. On a side note, what gives with the terrible connections from JFK to Florida for *A? Trying to make everyone trek out to Newark? Thanks in advance for any help offered.

You can't avoid baggage fees because you are connecting from an international flight to a domestic flight, in which case, you must collect your bags and clear customs before checking-in your domestic flight.
