I cut it to close this year. I'm not going to even see my 6 digit Pemium Point Balance. It should go to 0 just as my Dec 31 flight posts.

And here we go again.....just 100k short of requalification for 2013.

I've been a Diamond for 5 years now..before that 3 years as Platinum.

If I were you, I'd stay with JAL Diamond..gets you emerald on oneworld which I'd love to have....but because I mainly fly long distance, the 125% bonus miles I get on NH, UA and CO makes it hard to switch!!

Can someone help me decide if I should chase after NH Diamond or JL Diamond....

Do you have much use for upgrade points? If so, keep in mind that JL is getting rid of them after this year. Other than that (and being able to be OW Emerald), both programs are pretty much the same.

One other thing -- for all of JL's tiers, IIRC, there are now going to be minimum JL segment requirements, so if you plan to go for JGC just on CX or AA it won't work.

It's tough for me also...NH i'm always getting 50% vs JL diamond 125%..

I really have no use for NH upgrade points. I still have 4 left in my account and looks like they will expire march 31st...

FYI: between my family we have 72 JL upgrade points and 56 NH upgrade points to use up in 2012 year (when they post)

scho nice way to take a look at it. with the current travel (for work) I have about 80-90 sectors (about 70 domestic ITM-HND sectors)...

I'm still having a hard time deciding. I'll need to make my final decision by next Friday (when I take flight #1 on the 14th)
