My wife's flight (LX324 ZRH-LHR) was cancelled on 20. Dec.

She got on the next flight and the delay was only just over 3 hours. I submitted a cancellation compensation form a few days later.

Swiss have declined any liability citing 'the extreme weather conditions in Zurich on this date'

It was snowing, but from the webcam pictures it didn't look too bad. I have taken off in much worse conditions from ZRH. (It's LHR/LCY that are normally the problem)

No other LHR flights were cancelled that day and she said that there was a pretty light passenger load on the original flight and she didn't even get the standard 10 chf refreshment voucher.

Is it worth pursuing / are Swiss just hoping we will forget?

Thanks in advance!

Its not worth pursuing for a 3 hour delay.

I won't comment on the comp for canx but when you are not given a refreshment voucher its a carte blanche to buy a meal for much more than the standard voucher amount and get it refunded.

GVA-LHR and GVA-LCY had problems that day too and our 8:15 LHR arrival ended up being a 11:15 arrival. The mid morning GVA-LHR flight was cancelled and all further flights between GVA and LHR and vice versa were delayed.

Reason for the GVA delays were snow and the de-icing queue. Assume the same happened at ZRH. It isn't just the snow, but delays inbound, de-icing, more spacing between flights, etc. - all are weather related and I'd guess your compensation claim stands no chance.

If she is M&M member she will/should at least get credit for both flights.
