Swiss International Airlines - Laptop Connectivity in Swiss JFK Lounge

Hello all,

I have several times in the past had laptop connectivity problems in airline lounges (The CX lounge in CDG2 is famous for it) but never to the ridiculous point of the Swiss JFK lounge in JFK T4 where the signal area for the SWISS2 network is basically limited to one table and a few seats within a 10 ft radius. This seems to be well known by regular users (I am not one of those) who congregate within the area. The dragons at the door (I shall NEVER anymore call the AA staff at AAdmirals Clubs dragons, I now know one when I see one) are not only unhelpful but outright hostile when asked whether anything can be done or whether another network can be used. A kind soul who was happily webbing outside the zone told me that he was using the ELAL network next door, to which a fellow passenger had given him the key months ago. I tried, it worked. Why on earth would Swiss not remedy the problem and extend connectivity to its whole lounge, especially as it seems the question is put to them every day by hapless passengers ?

It's not Swiss, it is the unbelievable efficient JFK administration. Who else would be so stupd and place the lounges before the security checks?

Maybe it is a union issue and Swiss contrary to ElAl refuses to pay the customary bribes.

Why don't you just try SWISS1 instead? IIRC SWISS2 is the network on the HON and F side of the lounge....

Well, SWISS2 IS the one posted in the C part, with password. There's also a SWISS on the connections list (no Swiss1), but that's my point about the dragons, no help whatsoever...
