Status:the ticket has not been issued , the reservation expires on 19/12/2011 alle 21:28

Anyone seen this message before when checking the status of their booking. Made and paid for our reservation online on 19/12/2011 - credit card has been charged. Yet status showing as not issued.

I printed the Receipt of purchase 'electronic ticket receipt' confirmation when I booked the seats.

Should I contact Alitalia or is this lack of update due to the xmas holidays??

I encountered a similar message with an AZ booking last month.

You can see the full thread here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/alitalia-millemiglia/1282478-checking-az-reservation-online.html), but the key point seems to be:

That is an error that appears on the website, it means the ticket was correctly issued, and the date/time stated is either the time at which the ticket was bought or exactly one day afterwards, but it doesn't mean anything.
The search engine which usually works for finding your booking is the following:
http://www.alitalia.com/BE_EN/booking/apvsearch.aspx
It doesn't seem to reveal the e-ticket number ... but in any case the PNR should be enough for any procedures like online check-in or anything like that.

Do you have a confirmation email and an e-ticket number from AZ? If so, you should be fine. For the record, my reservation worked fine, with no problems and no follow-up with AZ required.

We haven't received a confirmation email and I am unable to check i did enter the correct email as I cannot find that information when I checked the information status of the booking? However, we do have the e-ticket number from the confirmation I printed at the end of the process. Would you suggest I contact Alitalia after the NYE weekend to check our booking if the status hasn't changed?

I'm no expert in this (as I've only had one direct experience of it myself). However, the responses in the other thread do indicate that the "Status:the ticket has not been issued , the reservation expires on dd/mm/yyyy at hh:mm" message is a known IT glitch with AZ's systems. If you reached the final confirmation page of the booking process, and received an e-ticket number, then I think you should be fine. However, if you want complete peace of mind, then you could call AZ to double-check.

Thank you all for your assistance. Gave them a call and they confirmed our booking was complete and kindly emailed me our booking confirmations!
