Singapore - Looking to stay at Shangri-La Sentosa...any advice?

Hi All

My family (two adults, 6 and 2 year old) are looking to stay for about a week in Sentosa in April.
Last time we were there we stay at the Sentosa Resort and Spa, which was nice but a little quiet. We've been looking at staying at the Shangri-La on Sentosa instead, and wondering if anyone has any feedback on their stay or anything else that might be of use (room promo codes or anything?).

ive never been able to snag online code discounts with shangri-la. they do advertise weekend specials locally. ive stayed here years ago, what i can remember is the rooms were a bit inferior for the rates charged. also recall thinking the sea view upgrade is a price worth paying. Breakfast is excellent. Pools good, beach bad.

Sorry these are non specific comments, thats all I can recollect unfortunately.

I would only choose this hotel if you intend to spend most of your time in it.

Will you be coming on a stop-over or is this meant to be an entire holiday?
