i'm thinking of doing a MR through there, and the itinerary allows a 31 minute layover. i'm thinking it's the same plane, but has anyone been here? i know it's a small airport, but just wondering what security is like and if this would be enough time. Thanks!

I've been there, but not recently. My dad, who's fought the airport expansion for years, just told me United's flying there seasonally.

yeah, was thinking of doing SNA-MMH-SFO-SNA...it's not THAT expensive and i figured the views would be really cool.

It is tiny. Security shouldn't be a problem as you should not have to exit security. I'd be more worried about potential weather delays.

If the aircraft type SFO-MMH and MMH-SNA are the same, then it's very likely it's the same aircraft so you should be fine. If you have to exit and re-clear security, tell the FA that you're "connecting" and to not leave without you :)
Its ridiculously small airport, basically a landing strip right next to the 395 haha
United and Alaska are flying seasonally only and this winter season they added on SAN :)

Unfortunately the flights from SAN are semi expensive at around $200 roundtrip for a weekend, although there are some good deals for midweek at least. Should be a fun little trip for a quick getaway. I am surprised they dont go out of CLD though for united, that would be perfect.
