I'm done with my RN activity for the year! This year continued to be a pretty good year for me in earning UA miles through the program. Total for the year is 43,381 which is less than last year but still pretty good all things considered.

Summation of my last couple of years:
2011 - 43,381 UA
2010 - 49,312 UA
2009 - 36,892 UA
2008 - 26,907 UA

How did everyone else fare?

Neither you nor I actually know the real UA amount, do we?

Ie, if it's UA in the 3rd quarter, there'll presumably be a bonus on that dining that'll come from Months of Miles, but it won't actually post until next year (but it'll still bue to dining this year).

(I didn't go rabid on shopping, or even dining, in Months of Miles. But I did steer all my "natural" $10+ dines to UA to max out the dining bonus from Months of Miles.)

... Meanwhile, I'm not done with my RN activity for the year. I'll only be out of town visiting relatives for Christmas for a few days, so I have several dines (after that) left this year. (Plus my dines in the past couple days haven't posted yet, of course.) In fact, I have yet to earn the AA "Sweeten" bonus (earned it for UA already, and have enough dines in DL already but only just finished the surveys the other day so the bonus hasn't posted yet), and I'll qualify for that with one of my dines next week.

I may have done 2000 this year, just by random coincidence. iDine has been rendered virtually useless in my area.

Exactly. Used to use the hell out of it, scored some major miles, but now that it's just 5 miles/dollar, I rarely go out of my way to look for a place. Only around 6000 miles this year, and most of that was simply by accident, didn't even know that place was in the program! If it ever goes back to 10 M/D, I'll actively get back on board, as it is, just not worth the hassle to me.

Ditto -- except I believe I earned 0 miles this year across all programs.

I miss the days of 10 miles/dollar being the smallest return one could get, with the 20-milers peppered around.
With AA's modified MM program, are the hardcore iDiners planning to stick with RN?

My worst year yet. There are too few locations in the Durham area and even when I traveled I never got the selection I used to find. Plus with the AA Million Miler rules being different now, I'm not as interested in going out of my way for 200 miles or less.

Dines:9
AA Miles Earned: 1,530

This is compared to 1,832 miles in 2010 and 4,371 in 2009.

By the time they all post, just under AA 42,000 miles this year. Fortunately, we have a number of decent AAdvantage Dining restaurants in the area, as well as some places we travel - and we've taken maximum advantage of bonus offers. It'd be more if they had better and more frequent offers, as our dining declines rapidly when there is little incentive.

I always focus on mantaining my VIP atatus with my three airlines: AA, DL and US. AA is for now my main airline but that could change due to the fact the miles no longer count toward a million miler status.

AA: 20,000 miles
DL: 3,250 miles
US: 3,500 miles

Not surprising, given the decrease in bonuses, my AA RN miles have been trending downwards; this year is about half of the high water mark:

2011: 69,194
2010: 90,095
2009: 84,980
2008: 135,097
2007: 117,774
2006: 121,518
2005: 122,031

(I enrolled in Idine/RN in 2001)

The Alaska and United miles that I earn are little more than a rounding error.

I wouldn’t be surprised to continue the slide in 2012, particularly without the incentive to try to pass another AA million mile marker.

With pending dines and the last promo I should end the year with about 47,500 miles. My husband did just enough to get to the 12 dines: 3,088.

Fortunately we have several great choices within about 5 miles of our home. We still go out of our way to use idine.

I am still waiting for some miles to post, but unless I screwed up the year-end dining runs, I dined exactly 11 times on three programs:
AA (3,185 miles earned, one not yet posted)
UA (2,267 miles earned)*
AS (4,268 miles earned, one not yet posted)

This is less than any other year, but the bonuses weren't that great and now the AA dines don't count towards million miler.

With Vancouver nearly gone from the program, I will be hard-pressed to make 11 dines on all 3 in 2012.

*UA had some bonuses for partner transactions that the dines helped.
