Hilton HHonors - Upgrades for Diamond?

How do I get upgraded on a room? Is this free?

It is free - but I would recommend pointing out your Diamond VIP status in the comment field if you're booking on-line or to the reservation agent if you're booking by phone. And if you get to the hotel and they haven't upgraded you, I would politely point that out to them - sometimes I think they just overlook your status and are happy to correct your room. I'm Gold VIP and have gotten some pretty nice suites when available. Enjoy!

Yep - I generally ask - and almost always get upgraded to a suite.
