Hilton HHonors - Amex/Hilton Promo?

I read in Randy's latest FF magazine that for all qualifying purchases during May, Amex HHonors platinum cardholders would earn double points. Have been unable to confirm this with Amex, either by phone or web site (article said you could sign up on the amex site, but there's nothing there). Anyone have a clue if this is for real?

I would assume its not. There was a thread here a week or two ago about it. I'm in the market for savings bonds so this would be ideal but I'm not going to spend the money unless I'm certain to get it. I concluded it was targeted and only applied to spending about your targeted amount--typically $3000.
