Hi.

I'm coming to Rarotonga from May 21 for ten days and would like to travel on for Aitutaki. Airfare on Air Rarotonga is quite high. Do you have any idea if it will get any cheaper when booking later or in person in rarotonga? or is it better to book now?

Thanks a lot

As far as I can tell (haven't been to RAR yet, but heading there next year and also planning to visit Aitutaki), Air Rarotonga's fares are pretty much fixed and invariant regardless of when or where you buy -- they have a total monopoly after all. There are occasional $99 return fare campaigns, but these usually have a raft of conditions (have to stay X days, book together with an expensive hotel package, be an NZ national etc).

Have flown with them in February and due to their monopoly they are very expensive regardless if you book online or in person. I payed NZ$392 for a return ticket to Aitutaki online and when I checked in person while I was in Raro it was NZ$197 so the difference is minimal. They do have last minutes available from time to time for NZ$99 however you might risk being stuck on Aitutaki waiting for a return flight.
