We plan to take a cruise from IST to ATH next October, and would like to fly LX in C, going to IST and return from ATH. We leave from and return to TPA, and it looks like we would connect outbound at IAD. We could also finish at IAD and stay over there a few days after the cruise, if that makes it easier to do. Would we be flying new equipment with comfortable seats on LX next year? It would be our first time on LX. How are the connections in Switzerland?

Thank you for considering SWISS for your trip to/from the Mediterranean.

I'm afraid we currently does not serve IAD. I would suggest that you transfer at either Miami, Newark, JFK, Boston or even Chicago. There also is a direct flight from/to Tampa twice a week by our leisure partner airline Edelweiss Air.

Seats and cabin configuration vary depending on the routing you use, as destinations in the US are served by both the A330-300 and A340-300 aircraft. Also, it is currently to early to say which aircraft in which configuration will fly a certain route in almost one year's time. All long-haul planes are equipped with the new Business Class seats, if that's the cabin you're planning to fly in.
