I just bought a set of Bose. They're pricey, but you get what you pay for. Amazing product.

I've got the Sony NC60 headphones and they work really well. There seems to have been some changes to them in the last couple of years. There are a lot of bad reviews for them when they first came out but that seems to have changed in the last couple of years. Mine have been really good. I definitely prefer them to the newer Sony NC200D. The NC60 actually covers the ears whereas the NC200D seem to sit on the ears themselves. That can get a bit uncomfortable on long flights, I have no idea why they did that. And the NC200D's just look cheap. Yuck.

I was only able to compare them with the Bose in a store, so not the best environment but I couldn't tell a big enough difference to justify the price for myself. The Bose do get a lot of really good raves from people though.

Bose for me for NC, comfy, good sound, all good.

If bose are a budget stretch too far then I would be tempted to ditch NC and buy a nice pair of noise isolating earphones. In which case I would go Etymotic, I run a pair of hf3's which I love.
