Travel with Children - OK For Two Year-Old to Play in F Lav?

So, it appears that if you are a b-list British comedian you feel entitled to allow your 2 year old child to play solo in the F lav on Qantas?

"(Alan) Davies was on a flight from Bangkok to London when his two-year-old daughter was reprimanded for playing in the first-class toilets..."
"A steward made my 2 yr old cry after turfing her out of a '1st class' toilet & told me to 'f--- off' when I complained," he said"

And people wonder why small children aren't welcome in premium cabins...

I really don't see this as a child issue, I see it as a DYKWIA-jerk-who-has-no-parenting-skills-problem. Two year olds like to play with water; it's the parent's job to teach them the right time and place to play with the water.

Yeah, I think this is less of a premium cabin issue and more of a generic "...??" issue.

Who lets ANY child play in a public restroom. It's disgusting, inappropriate, and honestly unimaginable!

That seems like a pile of "DYKWIM" combined with lazy parenting/adult wanting to booze the flight away without minding the children, in which case, that's what nannies are for when you're wealthy.

This article wasn't clear. I think this child was alone in the toilet?? That should have been stated. Are we talking a child banging around alone in a toilet? Or a child taking two extra minutes to wash her hands with the parent right there?

Two year olds shouldn't be using public lavs on their own. By three, some can do it but the parent should be either in there with them or right outside, even to only confirm that the hand cleaning gets done correctly (hey, my elementary schoolers sometimes overlook that one!)

So what was the whole point of bringing Stephen Frye into the article at all? Totally unrelated.

Fry and Davies appear together in a TV show, Qi, which is popular in Britain and Australia. Recently Fry also had issues with Qantas which he tweeted. There lies the relationship - I imagine neither story would receive any airing outside the UK or Au, and I would imagine that Davies would be totally unknown (deservedly so) in the USA.
