I have an international first class flight on Asiana from LAX arriving in Seoul, then I'm departing Seoul in business class on another *A carrier on a two-cabin aircraft. I know Asiana will not be obligated to let me in the first class lounge in Seoul, but I'm curious if anyone has experience with Asiana knows if there is any chance I'll get in if I ask nicely.
I would say very little chance. They pretty much operate according to the rules.

But ask anyway and show them your F BP. The worst they will do is very politely direct you tot he C lounge.

So the OZ F lounge is for departing F only, no arriving passengers allowed?

I'm not aware of anything written down anywhere that provides F lounge for an F->J connection.
Equally, I'm fairly certain I read here before that they allow OZ F arrivals to access the F lounge when connecting in J.
So, really the only way is to ask at the door. As 1kBill said above, the worst they can do is relegate you to the C lounge!

My understanding of *A rules for lounge access is that access is determined entirely by the class of the departing flight. But I'm hoping that Asiana will work with me since I am arriving in F on Asiana metal, and departing in J on a two-cabin aircraft. This is my first time ever flying in international F, so I'd really like to check out the first-class lounge if Asiana will allow it.
As others have said, it certainly doesn't hurt to ask. And if you were departing on an OZ flight in J, I'd say you'd probably have a better chance. But being you're departing on a different *A carrier, I wouldn't be expecting them to allow you in.

If you were arriving on F on OZ and connecting to another OZ two-class of service flight, you absolutely get into the F lounge. Have done it many times.
Connecting to another Star flight in C? Don't count on it, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Indeed, had no problem at all. Not the biggest thrill of F lounge anyway, though adequate for a few hours.

What if the J flight departs the next morning because the F flight gets in too late to catch the last flight out?
Is the F lounge worth it?

Actually, I think that the ICN OZ F lounge is lovely. I really like the atmosphere.
