No, the contorted look is one that seems to be a favorite in fashion photography for the last few years. It usually pops up with the model's arms and shoulders held in very unusual positions. This might be that or just an unfortunate choice of pose by the model and photog for that dress.

Yeah.... that does look a bit weird and rather UN-natural.

Use the zoom tool.

Unless this particular model has a double-jointed hip and knee...

Misleading use of photoshop in ads is becoming noted and in one market sector, banned.

...National Advertising Division (NAD) — the advertising industry’s self-regulating watchdog — has moved to ban the misleading use of photoshopping and enhanced post-production in cosmetics adverts.

As someone who actually has extensive training in anatomy, I fail to see the problem. Her right leg, our left, is the major weight bearing leg. Her center of mass is directly over it. Her left leg, our right, is a balance point and also helps move her center of mass over to that side so that she is stable on her right leg. It is a bit like flagging in climbing or how certain animals use their tails. Her legs make acceptable lines up to her hips. Not really anything unreal about her pose at all. Probably not comfortable to stand that way for too long but not unreal.

I have absolutely zero training in anatomy but I'd also say it doesn't look particularly unreasonable for her to be actually standing like that.

I used the zoom on site, and don't see any issue, not comfortable, but wholly possibly.

Actually, her knees are above the hemline of the dress. Her calves are tapering up into the hemline. As for trying to see through her dress , the red lines you drew are actually waaaaay too widely placed. Also note that the dress curls back and forth and that those sections that curl out towards us put enough fabric between her and us that we cannot see through it. (Pretty much right where you're point to.) I can assure you, if anything in this photo is 'shopped, it isn't the positioning of her legs.
