GLBT Travelers - Gay Abu Dhabi

I have spent couple of weeks in Abu Dhabi this Autumn on two trips. There is a "gay" club on the tourist club area that mainly caters to Arabs. There were few trannies as well.
The nearby Le Meridien has gayish clientele during Thursday and Friday. Easy to spot the tables.
Good place to start is to do some social networking on Romeo.

Also I assume like DXB all the friend seeking websites/apps are blocked (without VPN?)
DXB is well documented. Club Submarine, the Le Meridien by the airport and the EK Aviation College dorms. LOL. To name a few....

Just couldn't find anything useful on Google search so probably better not to name, although all the locals do know the place.

Just curious, do you guys feel safe in doing this? Because I've just been back from AUH, and I don't think I would defy the local laws on the subject with a light hearth.

I can't speak for Holtju, but gay men exist everywhere. Sometimes you need to look a little harder.
Dangerous can sometimes be rewarding. The key is to have a little "street smarts" and "travel sense". :D
