Here is a stay report for the Best Western Hotel Pav in Prague from December 6 to 8.
Location: The hotel is located on a small street near the touristy brewery U Fleku in a nice neighborhood of Prague, about a quarter mile from the Metro/Tram stop at Narodni Trida. There are numerous restaurants and bars near the hotel as well as the Mexican Consulate. Plus a quick walk to Narodni or Spalena streets means access to shopping and more eateries.
Hotel: The hotel is in a small building but it appears new and quite modern. The lobby area featured a bar with a good liquor selection (and a computer), small check in area and a separate breakfast room. The hotel is 5 floors (4 to Europeans) and has a tiny elevator (one of my few complaints). However, the walls are thin and it can get noisy.
Check-In: The agent on duty was very friendly and helpful and he welcomed me to Prague and gave me a map as it was my first time. Oddly, they had me write down my credit card number and didn't run it until I checked out, definitely more trusting than I would have been! Everything was done quickly though there was no mention of my [worthless] Diamond status.
Room: I've stayed at my fair share of 3* European properties and this one had the best room. The beds (two single beds = a King in Europe I guess) were comfortable and soft, there was a decent sized television with an average selection of channels (in English, Czech and German), a large closet with a safe and a very nice bathroom. The only annoying thing was the bathroom had a dispenser of "Soap/Shampoo" that was the same liquid, I wasn't a fan of that. There was also a small work area. My view was of an interior courtyard.
Other: The free breakfast was a big perk and was definitely not bad, a step above what I've found in the US. Cereal, bread, cold cuts, bacon, hard boiled eggs, some salad and a few other items as well as juice and coffee were available and it ran until 10:30 which was quite nice. Also, the desk staff were always helpful and friendly when I needed them.
My Rate was 44 Euro a night which I considered to be a very fair rate and I would stay here again. A few photos follow:
