Other European Frequent Flyer Programs - Can you book exit row on Icelandair with no status?

Never flown them before, but taking them to/from Europe next Spring, and it seemed to let me select Exit Row on all flights, with a basic economy fare ticket. Am I in for a surprise when we get onboard (or sometime sooner)?

I believe you can - but why not call and ask before you book by phone?

The joys of booking early. Yes, you can book exit seats. Be careful though that some exit seats do not recline and the tv monitor comes from under your seat (rather than being in the seatback in front.) Legroom however is great.

Sounds great, thanks!

Yes, you can and, if it's not available, you can always check at the airport. The beauty of it all is FI does not charge extra for exit row seating.

Bumping my own thread -- as promised, we had no problem booking and flying in an Exit Row this past June. Somehow we got booked in seats A & D, so we were window/aisle, but across the aisle from each other, but that was OK.

So today I'm looking at flights next July on FI, and the exit rows are blocked off! Anyone know if they've changed rules? I can't find anything on their website about who can/cannot book the exit row.

To be honest, I only checked 4 flights (BOS/KEF, KEF/CDG, and the same pairs returning), and the flights were 90% empty, so I guess they could have already been sold? But last year I was booking June in January and had my pick of the crop.

Thanks!

I booked a Nov flight in Sept and the system let me book an exit row for a basic economy fare ticket. Maybe things are changing for next year, but it wasn't so for the time being.
