Canada - About the "flex day" on Whistler/Blackcomb multi-day lift ticket

I am trying to buy Whistler/Blackcomb lift ticket online at whistlerblackcomb.com, but get confused by the "flex day".

Can anyone tell me how the flex day works on multi-day lift ticket? For example, if I buy a 4-day lift ticket and start on 1 Jan, I know the ticket gives me 1 flex day, does it mean that I can actually ski 5 days from 1 Jan to 5 Jan ?

What about if I want to ski on the first 2 days (Jan 1st and 2nd), and take a 2 days break for sightseeing on Jan 3rd and 4th, then go back to Whistler to ski on Jan 5th and 6th, does the 4-day lift ticket fit my schedule? Do I need to buy 2 sets of 2-day lift ticket?

Thanks for any input in advance!

If it comes with one flex day, it means you can ski 4 out of 5 days. So if your first day is 1 Jan, you may take one day off, but must complete your 4 days by 5 Jan. It does not mean you can ski 5 days.

In your scenario, you would need two flex days, so that won't work and you would need to buy 2 sets of two day tickets as you've suggested. Alternatively if you are a Canadian or WA resident you can buy a 3 day Edge Card and then pay the discounted rate for your 4th day. 7-Eleven stores in Vancouver and Squamish also used to sell discounted tickets, I'm not sure if that's still the case this year.
