Aer Lingus Gold Circle Club - Lost on Aer Lingus, no support getting back

On 4 Dec, I was re-routed onto Aer Lingus from IAD to MAD when a UA flight IAD-FRA cancelled; Aer Lingus was only route with C class available that night. I left a headset on the plane in MAD which I didn't notice until three days later in BRU.

Called Aer Lingus res, who gave me number in MAD and said to email ccu@aerlingus.com. Did both. Number in MAD is never answered; a colleague in Belgium has tried from 7am to noon for a week, the number is never answered. I have tried afternoon and evening hours, never an answer. The CCU people sent me a curt "call baggage office at IAD" and a number; same result - calling for a week at different times, never an answer.

Anyone out there have any idea how to try and get my item located and, if they have it, returned?

I would suggest cutting your losses and move on. Frustrating? Yes. But, in reality you're talking about something left on a plane more than ten days ago. Your headset has found a new home elsewhere.

There exist higher-priority numbers at Aer Lingus which I've used successfully, but really, there is no chance your headset will be recovered, unfortunately.

As its a UA flight you would be better contacting UA ops in IAD as EI don't realy have nothing to do with it as they are only operating the flight on behalf of UA and would guess that anything lost etc would be given to UA in IAD and not EI in DUB,
