I got an odd e-mail today, based on a ticket I have book to San Diego around Christmas time. Curious if anyone has received anything like this before:

"Our records show you are soon taking a trip to San Diego. Southwest Airlines is doing a research study, and we are looking for people who plan to purchase tickets or a package to SeaWorld or Busch Gardens for a visit before the end of the year. We will be doing a few short interviews in your destination city, San Diego, and would like to invite you to participate in one of the following:

Tag-Alongs – For these, we would arrange to meet you and your family (or group of friends) at the park entrance. We’d then walk around the park with you for an hour or two – asking you a few questions along the way. For helping us out, we’ll give you and up to two other adults in your party $75 cash each.

Dinner Interviews – For these, we’ll meet you at your hotel or a nearby restaurant after your day at the park. We’ll chat about your experience and find out a little bit about what brought you there. As a thank-you, we’ll pick up the food tab.

We mostly want to understand what made you decide to visit the park and what you most enjoy. We may also ask what you and your friends do together for fun, and of course, about travel and SeaWorld or Busch Gardens.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in doing, please email us southwestairlines@ideaplanetinc.com as soon as you can. Spots are limited. We’d love to tell you a little more about this and take you through a couple questions to see if it will work out.

Again, thank you for your time. These have been really fun, casual conversations and we’d just love to have you participate. We look forward to hearing back from you.

I received the same email today. I returned from San Diego yesterday. I have not received any similar emails in the past from WN/partners.

She's a real person, so you might email her and ask any questions you may have....

I got the same thing, and posted on SW's Facebook wall asking about it. Whitney responded that yes, it's legit.

Coming here tonight to ask about this. I received the same email regarding an upcoming Orlando trip. I think I just may take them up on it!

Curious if they have residency restrictions - I actually live in San Diego (though I technically have a FL license still . . . ) I booked my flights as separate one ways this time so they think my trip "back" is a trip to San Diego.

I sent an E-mail to the address listed in the body of the e-mail saying I might be interested. We'll see what comes back.

I got one too, it was awaiting me in my inbox as I walked into the terminal and turned my phone on from my MCO-BUF flight. Poor timing :(

They emailed me back asking what dates I was going to be at Seaworld. They were planning on being there a different week - so don't think I will be able to do it.
