Hawaii - Queen Kapiolani Hotel Upgraded Rooms?

Hi, anyone stay in the upgraded rooms recently...either the Diamond Head or Partial Ocean View rooms? we've stayed at the hotel before, prior to the upgrades, and really liked the location and views. the rooms were a bit dated. wondering if the upgrades have really helped...and what was done. thank you

We just returend from our long-weekend stay at the Queen K. there have been some nice upgrades to the hotel since the last time we were there. The common areas have been done, mostly new flooring and the like. the restaurant/bar area certainly has been upgraded. And, the rooms have all gotten new beds, furniture, wall and window work, upgraded bathrooms, etc. it's still a pretty basic hotel...nothing fancy or cutting-edge like some of the new hot spots opening in Waikiki...but my wife and I like staying there becasue of the quiet location, very friendly staff and the new imprivements help make it a nicer overall experience.
