I booked a ticket online from London Heathrow to Islamabad via Jeddah for the 4/01/2012 arriving in Islamabad on 05/01/2012. The The transit time in Jeddah was approximately 4 hours.

2 days ago I was informed my connecting flight has been cancelled and the new connecting flight will be leaving on 07/01/2012.

My questions are:

Will Saudi Airlines let me board the plane at London knowing that I will be waiting in Jeddah for over 49 hours?

Do I need a transit visa before boarding the flight from London?

Can I be issued a transit visa from Jeddah Airport?

What about food and accommodation whilst waiting in Jeddah?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Two almost identical posts... strange.

Anyway, you can't get a transit visa on arrival (and I would have recommended getting a transit visa for just this eventuality), and in theory Saudia would be within their rights to deny you boarding. However given you are (I hope) travelling on a single Saudia ticket, they should organise things for you. Since the flight is out of London, EU rules should apply I believe.

You'd need to hope they let you leave the airport too, you really don't want to be spending 2 days in the airport! However I believe this is up to the immigration officer.
