Hey all,

...

In January, my dad and I are flying on Aeroplan YYC-LAX-ICN, GMP-HND, NRT-ORD-IAH-YYC. All in F/J.

One overnight is HND/NRT. I'm looking for good hotel recommendations.

Now this is the tricky one - we arrive into HND @ 22:15, depart from NRT the next day @ 11:20. I'd like to take public transportation between the two airports, so I assume sleeping near HND would be the better option? Help please. :) This is January 12-13.

There aren't any more night spent in hotels anywhere else, so that's all the advice I need for this trip. :)

Thanks guys!

NRT has a plethora of competing hotels, easy to find lower rates; HND has one hotel on airport grounds and one nearby, others coming - not as easy to find cheap rates. Your problem is your late arrival at Haneda, some time after the last departure for Narita of the Friendly Airport Limousine Bus at 20:20 and 20:25 (different terminals). The first morning bus departs HND 7:40 and arrives (one hopes, as traffic in the Kanto area can be quite heavy at tumes) at 9:00 AM.

In my estimation, you should plan to overnight at

Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu (Haneda / HND Terminal 2 - the hotel has its own entry if the airport lobby is closed)
3-4-2, Haneda Airport Ota-ku, Tokyo 144-0041
(81)3-5756-6000

and take the first Airport Limousine Bus to Narita to your terminal.

Or, follow instructions in this post (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/japan/293903-transport-between-narita-haneda-airports-japan-merged-2.html#post17234196) in the Transport between Narita and Haneda airports, Japan [merged] (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/japan/293903-transport-between-narita-haneda-airports-japan-merged.html) thread.

The actual answer will depend, IMO, on how familiar and comfortable you are with local tranpsortation in the Tokyo area (and how late you arrive - transport shuts down a bit earlier than one would expect).
