I would like to upgrade my round trip to Dubai but the chart on the finnair website doesn't show any amount of points needed for an upgrade.
Today is the independance day in finland so nothing is open and I can't get an answer.
Anyone ever tried that?
Or is it just impossible to upgrade with points on this route?

Don't bother...one class only..if it's 757 (not sure, didn't check) be aware that it's charter seating as well so it's extremely cramped..

One-class 757 in charter config like Halifax. These flights should not be sold as route flights by AY.

YHZ is not for sale as a scheduled flight. HEL-YHZ and YHZ-HEL these are leisure flights coded as AY 19xx.
One class Boeing is on scheduled routes to YYZ, DXB, AGP and some domestic destinations.

I don't get why they still do that, thank God they don't have many 757's left any more.
In summers they have used 757 to Toronto, will do that next summer 5x weekly, poor passengers... They even offer connections to Asia, 333/343 must feel like heaven after their 757.

I did this route (for business) some years ago. On the way to Toronto things were OK, plenty of room, I had a row for myself etc. On the way back the plane was filled to the capacity, but luckily I got 31F, i.e. exit row seat.
The funny thing was that a very well-known Finnish NHL player and his family checked in at the same time as I did. I guess direct flight trumps comfort any time, huh? (Hey, works for me, I guess.) It's not like the flights were particularly cheap even.
The improvement what Finnair has made is the change of the terminal in Dubai. Earlier the flight was taking off from one of the terminals for cheap-fly companies offering no reasonable facilities. This winter the flight takes off from the same terminal e.g. BA does, good.
I have travelled numerous times from HEL to DXB both with BA via LHR and directly from HEL. Time to time I'm deciding to take the direct flight never again. Still the facts are: from HEL-DBX direct 6h10min, no transfers, no waiting time when departing from HEL. Return flight via TXL 15h50min: DXB-TXL 8.15-11.55, TXL-HEL 19.10-22.05, arrggh...
With BA, 2-3 daily flight from LHR to DXB, return flight at night, price in aconomy appr. the same as with AY. Total travelling time both ways between 12h30min - 15h40min.

If only AY had normal Y on that route but the 757 is something totally unbearable, should be forbidden by EU or something..and only limited to package tours where everything is allowed, it seems.
I wonder how tall people can take the bracing position in that bird? Can't imagine anyone over 190/195cm to be able to do it on normal seats?

Why not TK, about 100€ cheaper than AY on random dates:
HEL-IST 14.10-17.25, 2:35 layover, IST-DXB 20.00-02.35+1 Total time 10:25
also EK is priced on the same level than AY
HEL-FRA 14.10-15.55 (LH), 4:20 layover, FRA-DXB 20.15-05.251+ Total time 13:15, a bit faster on the way back.
